Somebody help me, please! you say...Well before I help you, I need to know if you’re HELPABLE. What are you talking about? Can’t you see I NEED HELP? you scream. Oh yes, that obvious...don’t mean to upset you, but let’s look at this...

Suppose you are out in the ocean drowning and screaming help. And suppose I jump in the water and swim to you to bring you to the shore. But when I get to you, you are so panicked that you are thrashing about and grabbing onto my head, which pushes me under the water. Now, not only can I not help you, but I can’t breathe because you’re drowning me too. You are not HELPABLE in this state of pure fear. 

In your frantic attempt to live, you can’t hear me telling you to calm down, relax, stop thrashing about, stop drowning me...instead lay still, and I will carry you safely to shore. If you do that, you become HELPABLE. 

The same is true when we’re dealing with a lot of anxiety, fear, sadness, grief, anger. We tend to thrash about trying to get somebody to help us, but FEAR is making us not helpable. What does it take to be helpable for healing from anxiety and sadness, or anything, for the matter? you ask. Ahhh! Thank you for asking!

The reason I AM successful at what I do is because I only work with people who are helpable, which entails three qualities: RESOURCEFULNESS, COACHABILITY, and DECISIVENESS. I only work with people whose #1 priority is their healing. Both of us giving 110%, it’s a powerful formula for changing lives and creating amazing lives of peace, love and joy. 

When a person is reSOURCEful, that means they recognize they are full of Source. Instead of saying, “I don’t have the resources to invest in my healing,” they say, “My bank account does not currently reflect the resources for the investment in my healing, however, because I’m resourceful, I will find a way to invest in myself.” I’m curious... Would you go to a car dealer and ask them to give you a car for free because you didn’t have the money to pay for it? Well, of course you wouldn’t! Instead, what do you do? You say, “I don’t have the money in my bank account right now, but I would like to make a loan because I need that car.” Why would you treat your healing any different? Isn’t your life and health more important than a car? Of course it is! You just didn’t realize this because of your programming based on all of that fear. But now you know. Now you’re one step closer to becoming helpable.

Let’s talk a little bit about coachability... What does that mean? That means that whatever the coach, the guide, the expert that you paid to guide you and show you how to heal and create a new life, says... you do it! You listen... without grumbling, complaining and resisting. You’re like a sponge soaking in all the healing energy. With that kind of attitude, you cannot fail. 

So if you hope to be helped, the final quality is decisiveness. And what exactly does that mean? It means you don’t hesitate when you make a decision. You choose life and health for yourself in each moment. You don’t let fear keep you down.

Why Do You Always Think the Worst About Things and Is That Working For You?

OMG! Now that you say that, I can see it’s true! you say. And NO, it’s not working for me. It makes me anxious and afraid, you say. Relax, my friend. There’s nothing wrong with you. All that negative thinking that causes so much fear comes from fear, and it’s part of the human instinct to survive. 

Back in the day, when all the cave people were doing their thing populating the planet with the human species, it wasn’t easy. Every time they turned around, there was some creature chasing them, trying to eat them for lunch! So, being able to be aware of that possibility and being able to defend or run away from those dangers was very important, or else you and I wouldn’t be here. 

Obviously, we are no longer cave people, and we have populated the earth quite well. But the funny thing is is that the human brain has not evolved in the same way. Our brains treat all fears much in the same way it did when our life was in danger of being eaten. Our minds cannot distinguish if there’s an actual danger from a tiger chasing us or if there is a possibility of someone not wanting to be with us. Our thoughts just go round and round with all the possibilities of what could go wrong, trying to figure out a way out of the danger of experiencing someone rejecting us. 

So, what can we do about this? We can rewire our brains! It’s not something that happens overnight. In fact, we did not develop this way of thinking overnight, so we can’t expect it to go away instantly. Imagine a stream coming down the side of a mountain. The water creates a groove in the mountain because of the continuous flow. The brain is very similar to that. We develop pathways from our habitual thinking. If we hope to develop new neural pathways, we have to redirect the stream of thoughts and do that over and over. Mantras and reframes can help us do that. 

It is our AWARENESS and INTENTION that creates lasting change. So, we must first be aware of what we’re saying and thinking. Then we can use tools like mantras, and we can learn how to reframe any negative or fearful thoughts or words. Here are some examples:

“I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’m going to fail.” 

becomes

“I know everything I need to know in this moment, and I cannot fail.”

“Nobody really cares about me because I am not worthy of love.” becomes

“ I am worthy of love because I am love itself.”

“I have to pay $$$ for my therapy.”

becomes

“I GET TO INVEST $$$ in my healing.”

“I will never find anyone who will love me.”

becomes

“I AM attracting the most amazing person into my life who will love me exactly as I AM.”

You get the idea... The thing is, you have to believe what you’re saying. If you’re saying things that you don’t believe, it doesn’t work. So, it’s really important that you do the internal work of loving yourself and healing yourself as fear arises. That, my friends, is a whole ‘nother  process that must precede this one.

Are You Spending All Your Time Trying to Get It Right?

People, stop wasting your time trying to figure things out, so that you don’t mess up. That’s a very unskillful and LIMITED way of being that comes from FEAR...Fear of being wrong, Fear of failure, Fear of being hurt, Fear of not being enough, Fear of not having enough. Any time you spend your energy trying to avoid, push away or fight what you don’t want, you limit yourself and often wind up getting what you don’t want!

There is a better way! Follow your joy. Follow what you DO WANT. Start learning how to tap into your Divine LIMITLESS nature that knows everything it needs to know in this moment by being HERE NOW. Stop trying to figure things out with your human logic and relying on your human abilities and resources. 

My Lord! I watch people having so much resistance to what’s HERE NOW, banging on the door that just slammed in their face, they can’t see the wonderful open door down the hall waiting to bring them to a place that serves them better at this time! And they don’t realize the very things and people they are fighting and resisting are actually parts of THEMSELVES that are asking to be healed! 

In fact, those very parts of ourselves that we automatically fight, ignore, push away, demonize even, are the very reason WE CAME here...to LOVE and HEAL. 

Thank you so much for all the wonderful modalities that people use to heal themselves, doctors, medicines, diets, crystals, massages, energy workers, blah, blah, blah, but if those are the primary source of healing, and you keep fighting and resisting the very parts of yourself that need healing, then all of those modalities are useless. Because you remain not healed. And a lot of times, people make it worse by trying all of those things, which tends to get them focused on trying to get it right, and avoiding and fighting what they think is wrong. 

Wake up, people! You are Divine LIMITLESS beings. Why are you fiddling around trying to live your life like a limited human being? And judging everything and everyone that’s not doing it like you think they should do it. It’s time to start being HERE NOW, where everything is, where all knowing is, where all power is, where LOVE, JOY and PEACE is. It’s time to start intuiting what’s appropriate in this moment for you and you alone. You’re not responsible to decide what’s appropriate for other people. And what’s appropriate in this moment can change in five minutes. If you’re relying on some plan or belief system or set of rules, you don’t have to be present to live your life. The truth is that most people live their entire lives from that very limited way of being, and never access their Divine limitless nature by being present. 

It’s time to take inspired action or non-action based on your intuition. Stop fighting and resisting and start loving and accepting what’s here now. The world needs you to show up in your full glory and power. So what are you waiting for? BE HERE NOW. BE LOVE. BE JOY. BE PEACE. And ACT from who  YOU ARE.
